The best way to raise funds and motivate people online is to tell great stories through video. When done right, video allows your audience to connect with your work on an emotional level, inspires them to take meaningful action and can be the foundation that builds a movement.

But it's easier said than done.

This session teaches you how to avoid the three biggest mistakes which prevent non-profits from achieving impact with video. It will help you understand the key ingredients of videos which raise money, propel peer-to-peer sharing and move supporters to join your movement.

Using their free e-book, The Starter Guide to Non-Profit Video Storytelling, as a foundation, this presentation will feature real life examples to demonstrate what works and what doesn't. By the time you leave, you will have a concrete step-by-step method to help your non-profit take your videos from boring and bland to powerful and persuasive.

Featured guests:

Annie Escobar and Ethan Goldwater are the co-founders of ListenIn Pictures, a media production company specializing in non-profit storytelling. They believe that non-profits need video production partners who understand their unique needs and who know how to tell stories which will maximize impact. Their partners include Adoptions Together, Planned Parenthood, Achievement First, KIPP Charter Schools, BRAC, Human Rights Campaign, and NYU Wagner.

Rob Wu is a Founder at CauseVox, an innovative online fundraising platform that empowers non-profits to easily design their own fundraising sites for campaigns and personal/team fundraising. Most recently, Rob co-created SXSWCares, a campaign that raised over $120,000 in 10 days. His work has been recognized by the Mayor of Austin and featured in the NYTimes, CNN, Forbes, and NPR. Rob spends his free time helping NGOs abroad solve social problems more effectively. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
